Stamped as a Bachmann product but sold in the UK under the short lived Replica Railways brand.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e61264 is one of two preserved B1s, and the only LNER Loco to come out of the famous Barry Scrapyard. She was only a LNER loco for 26 days! Being out shopped in December 1947. She was run in on Great Eastern Mainline based out of Stratford Depot. Before moving 2 weeks later up the line to Parkeston Quey depot and later Colwick Depot on the former Great Central Railway. 61264 was withdrawn from service in 1965. However, she wasn’t sent straight for scrapping. She taken into departmental stock and used a mobile carriage heater until 1967. Luckily the loco was acquired by Woodham Brothers Scrap Merchants of Barry Island. This meant she joined the nearly 250 steam locos at the site awaiting scrapping that never came. Purchased for preservation in 1976 she made its way to Loughborough on the newly formed Great Central Heritage Railway.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHer restoration to steam was extremely complex and at times appeared impossible. Her boiler was in an extremely poor condition. Her restoration would take some 21 years to complete! Steaming on the GCR for the first time in 1997. During her first ten year ticket the loco spent most of its time at the Great Central. But did visit other heritage railways including the North Norfolk Railway. 61264 also had a short period on the mainline. Her first overhaul in preservation was undertaken at Crewe Heritage Centre. Before moving the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. She was a regular on the NYMRs mainline trips to Whitby. Upon the expiration of her second boiler ticket she was moved back on to GCR Metals. But this time at Great Central Railways Nottingham site.
