A simple but very nicely painted late production Lima. The model had just been serviced and runs nicely. The model is in a very attractive livery and is perfect for beginners and collectors.
Loco name factoid: The real loco was a registered War Memorial while in service. Named in honour of Norman Tunna (George Cross) who was a shunter at Birkenhead during WW2. While marshalling wagons of high explosives during an air raid in 1940, one of wagons caught fire due to incendiary bombs landing on the wagon. At great risk to himself and while still under fire from the air raid. Norman Climbed into the burning wagon and removed the alight bombs by hand, before they could detonate the wagon. He then remained at his post to cool the hot explosives in the wagon. He was presented the George Medal which is the highest award for heroism for civilians, and is similar is status to the Victoria Cross.
